How do I get paid for my consults?

Learn the basics of when and how you'll receive payment

Fee for service providers new to Virtual Hallway often ask about how they will bill for phone consults. Virtual Hallway's platform makes it easy to submit billing and receive payment for phone consults. In fact, we automate the whole process, so that you can focus on patient care.

How your billings get submitted

In order for Virtual Hallway to bill for the work you do through the platform, you must enable Virtual Hallway to submit billings on your behalf. To do this, all you have to do is log into your account, click the Account tab, and under the general heading you will see the required form that you must fill out. These forms are province dependent, and they allow Virtual Hallway to submit billing on your behalf.

Once a phone consult has been completed and the specialist submits the consult report, Virtual Hallway automatically submits the required billing information for processing. Once the billing has been submitted, it can take anywhere from a few days to weeks for the billing to be submitted.

How you'll get paid

At the beginning of each calendar month, you will be paid the previous month's billings. The payment will be sent to your email address on file. If you would like the payment to go to a different email address than the one used for your account login, you can change this within your portal. Click on Account -> general -> Address/billing info. Change the e-transfer email address and then click Confirm Changes.

Shortly after the payment is sent, you will also receive a statement outlining the payment.

How much you'll be paid

Payment is province dependent. Each province has different billing codes for phone consults. To calculate the amount, simply add the billing code amount, by the number of completed consults (completed includes the specialist having submitted their report).

You can check the status of any of your payments by emailing [email protected]
